You may have to use your screen reader's mouse pointer functions to do that. I know you do in order to actually reply to Emails, add friends and whatnot. It's funny but I was actually going to ask a question pertaining to Youtube. Mine is whether anyone knows of blind friendly ways to actually record the videos. I suppose you first need a Webcam, which I imagine is probably going to cost me at some point. I'd like to start doing my own Let's Play series, which for those who don't know is where someone takes a video game and plays it and in many cases talks about it while they play. But I'd like to do this with some audio games to show sighted folks and maybe even some blind folks who haven't yet been introduced, what our games our like.

Try the mobile version. There'll be a link about using youtube on your phone. They'll give you a special e-mail address where you can send your video. Each user has a different one, so I can't tell you your's. In any case, you simply attach the file like you would with any e-mail, and, using the same method that you'd use to e-mail to a friend (client or webmail) you upload your file to youtube. Then, you can go to your uploaded videos and edit things like description, tags, category and privacy.

A mobile version? But I don't use the internet on my phone. Of course first I suppose I need a webcam since I don't think the camera on my phone would be good for this.

I don't use anything on my phone except a phone. You can do it straight from your computer. You just make the video, in the normal way, and then e-mail it to the address that they give you. It's made for the phone but it's an excelent way to post when Windows doesn't want to work.

But how do most people make the video. That's what I'm trying to figure out. I suppose you need a webcam or a video camera.

Yeah, that's kind of a given. lol I suppose you could do it with a virtual camera but have no idea. In Windows, I use a wonderful program called Debut. It's very accessible and easy to use. In Leopard, I simply use Photo Booth.

Well I figure I'd just record the game as I'm playing it and talk about it, which is generally what sighted folks do for their Let's Plays.

Hi.
To upload to youtube you could try the free youtube uploader software from http://www.dvdvideosoft.com
It is the same company that makes free youtube to mp3 converter and other usefull programs.
I personally like the free video to mp3 converter because i use the video camera of my n95 phone as a voice recorder and then i convert the file in mp3 because the voice recorder on the phone is not good quality. It sounds like telephone quality but the camera sounds very nice.

I don't like that Youtube to MP3 converter. No matter what I tried I could never get it to work. I use the newest Klango for that. As for actually uploading, that portion of the site seems doable, albeit with the screen reader's mouse pointer.

Yeah, I don't like it either cause I had the same problems. I usually just go to a site and do the conversions online. As for uploading from the site, it's far easier with the Mac than with XP, though I haven't tried it with NVDA and FireFox yet. I can't wait to see what Net-Tamer will make of it. lol

Actually what I need to find out if there are any reasonably blind friendly webcams so I can try actually posting there. You can upload mp3 files toYoutube but it won't actually show up if you do a search. I tried that yesterday.
